Heidi has been in the field of perioperative nursing for 22 years. She began as an OR nurse while working to earn her MSN and family nurse practitioner degree. She had worked as an NP/RNFA for the past 16 years, mainly in orthopedics. In addition she is adjunct faculty for Dr Jane Rothrock’s RNFA program at Delaware County Community College in Media PA.
Heidi has been very active in AORN for the past 10 years. She has worked on task forces to rewrite the position statements for RNFA’s, written Positioning at a Glance, and the Shoulder and Elbow Module for Periop 202. She has served on the RNFA Specialty Assembly and APRN Specialty Assembly in leadership roles, the Nominating Committee of which she chaired from 2019-2020, and currently serves as a member of the AORN Board of Directors. Locally she served on numerous committees, the board and two terms as President of AORN of Baltimore before moving to Idaho. She now serves as the secreatry of the Treasure Valley Chapter and is helping to revitalize the chapter as it has been struggling for a few years.
She has presented a number of times at Expo, the Issues and Answers Conference for RNFA’s every year, the North Carolina State Council meeting in 2019 and last year for the Oregon State Council meeting.
