Carol Devlin is a Robert Wood Johnson Future of Nursing Scholar and PhD candidate at M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing, Villanova University (FCN VU), and a Stratton Scholar at Jefferson College of Nursing (JCN). She teaches in the undergraduate nursing program at JCN. Carol received her MSN in 2018 and BSN in 2016 from VU, after obtaining a diploma in nursing at Roxborough Memorial Hospital, School of Nursing in 1987. Carol anticipates defending her PhD in April of '22 at FCN VU.
Over the past 35 years, Carol worked in the perioperative environment, providing direct patient care and teaching patients and all levels of healthcare providers. She worked directly with engineers and developers of medical equipment. Carol actively participates with multiple professional organizations and is holds leadership roles with the Association of periOerative Registered Nurses (AORN) on the Global Relations Committee, RNFA SA, 3910 Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter secretary; VU representative, SIGMA; and Alpha Nu. Carol's emerging research platform focuses on generating evidence to influence policies that promote the optimization of surgical patients' health and outcomes.
