Kevin Jacobson is an RN III in the Walter Tower Operating Room at Houston Methodist Hospital. He is from Fort Worth, Texas and completed his bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Texas at Austin. He has worked in the CVOR (cardiovascular operating room) at Houston Methodist for almost 7 years. He enjoys the teamwork, fast-pace, and innovation at Houston Methodist. While they perform a wide range of cardiovascular surgeries, he most enjoys the vascular, endovascular, and hybrid cases, especially in the scrub nurse role. Since stepping into the RN III role, Kevin enjoys seeking out and leading process improvement initiatives, brainstorming innovative solutions, serving as a mentor, and functioning in leadership roles. One of the recent improvement projects that he was instrumental in was featured in last year's July edition of the AORN journal under the title, "Creation of mobile carts to address bedside emergencies."
