Joanne Muyco graduated in 2009 from the University of Houston with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a minor in Global Business, and a certificate in Corporate Entrepreneurship. She went back to nursing school and graduated in 2011 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Cizik School of Nursing. After graduation she went into perioperative nursing and started her OR residency in the former Fondren Brown operating room. In 2017 she became the Clinical Educator for Fondren Brown and helped transition the department to the new Walter Tower operating room. She went back to school and graduated with her MSN in Nursing Leadership and Administration in 2019 from UT Health Science Center at Houston Cizik School of Nursing and is currently in the DNP Nurse Executive program at the same school. She is an active member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and currently sits on the Education and Communication Committees. Today she is one of the Walter Tower OR managers where she helps to oversee 4 major service lines, 14 OR and hybrid suites, and over 70 employees. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters, being with family and friends, eating food, reading, and exploring new places.
