Tara DeCorte Clesi BS, BSN, RN, WCC, WOC
Tara is the current Operational Coordinator for the Wound Ostomy and Geriatric Department at Ochsner Medical Center – Jefferson Highway Campus. Tara started her nursing career here in 2005 as a Med-Surg nurse on a Post Op unit. She transitioned into the Wound Ostomy Geriatric team in 2008 and began her leadership journey with the department in 2014. Throughout her career she received a Daisy award, was recognized as a Louisiana Great 100 Nurse, was both principal and sub investigator in several research projects, presented posters at several local and national conferences and been published through some of these works. Tara attended Loyola University New Orleans from 1997 to 2001 where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science - Biology. Following this she began nursing school at Louisiana State University School of Nursing Health Sciences Center where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005. She completed the Wound Ostomy Continence program through WebWoc in 2012 and Wound Care Education Institute Skin and Wound Management Course in 2018. Currently is currently Wound Care Certified (WCC) and a member of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Society.
