Dr. Michelle McHugh Slater is an Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio. She earned her doctorate from Case Western Reserve University Francis Payne Bolton, School of Nursing with a focus on Educational Leadership. Dr. Slater is currently completing a post-doctoral fellowship in healthcare quality science and safety at the Louis Stokes Veteran Affairs Center (VAMC) in Cleveland, Ohio as a nurse quality scholar. She has a clinical practice focus in perioperative nursing that spans 20 years in multiple roles: Clinical RN, Manager, Director, Perioperative Edcuator.
