Adrienne O’Brien has been employed at Boston Medical Center (BMC) for the past twenty-two years, most recently as a perioperative clinical nurse educator for the past two and one-half years. She began her career as an elementary school teacher but quickly transitioned into the healthcare world working in both administrative and clinical roles. She served as the manager of the outpatient surgical clinic and the Clinical Coordinator of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston, and as the Program Coordinator for the Surgical Program for Morbid Obesity at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She continued this role at Boston Medical Center until entering the O.R. as a perioperative nurse in 2005.
Adrienne earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Salem State College, her BSN at Emmanual College in Boston and her MSN from Chamberlain University in Illinois. She holds her certification in OR nursing (CNOR) from the ANCC.
