Kathleen Finnerty graduated from Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City in 1992. She practiced Medical Surgical Nursing at St Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital until 1994.
In 1995 she joined an OB GYN group where she managed patients' caseloads for two doctors. In January 1997, she began her career as a peri-operative nurse. She started working in the Main Operating Room at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She has worked in the OR for 25 years and specializes in gynecologic surgery.
During Covid, Kathy was instrumental in developing a workflow for patients who needed surgery and were Covid positive. She continues to be a resource person for the nursing staff, surgeons, ancillary staff, and anesthesia team.
