Nancy Giacomozzi currently works as a Senior Clinical Nurse analyst for Boston Medical Center (BMC) in the Nursing IT dept. Nancy started at BMC 10 years ago as Nurse Educator for the Operating room and also worked as the Subject Matter Expert for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) supporting the Periop and Procedural areas including Endoscopy, Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology. She transitioned into her current analyst role 7 years ago upon implementation of the current EHR software application, Epic, and supports nursing staff using the Optime and Radiant applications.
Prior to her employment at BMC, Nancy worked as a clinical nurse for 20 years at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA as a staff nurse in the OR. After leaving Mt. Auburn, Nancy worked as Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager at several Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Her clinical background also includes several nursing IT jobs supporting clinical nursing and ancillary services at NE Baptist Hospital and Winchester Hospital in Massachusetts.
Nancy earned her BSN in 1980 from Boston University School of Nursing and her Master’s in Education in 1997 from Cambridge College in Cambridge, MA. She also currently holds certifications in Nursing Informatics from the ANA and certification in OR nursing (CNOR) from the ANCC.
