Ingrid Rush gained her 36 years of operating room (OR) expertise while performing various roles in the OR. Following training in the Army Reserves as a surgical technician Ingrid worked in the OR at the Jamaica Plain VA Medical Center in Boston MA. While working as an ST for more than 10 years she earned her BSN and was hired as a clinical staff nurse in the OR at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Ingrid has worked at BMC full-time or as a per-diem nurse for over 20 years. She has also worked at Mount Auburn Hospital as a clinical staff nurse in the OR and spent 5 years as a travel nurse. After obtaining her degree in healthcare administration Ingrid moved into a Perioperative Clinical Nurse Educator role at Norwood Hospital in MA and then returned to BMC full-time as an Assistant Nurse Manager and Clinical Flow Coordinator for the Perioperative Services. She now works as a Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Specialist for the Department of Surgery at BMC where her interest is in operating room process improvement.
Ingrid earned her BSN from the College of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 1998 and her Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA in 2016.
