Dr. Patricia Hickey is Vice President of Cardiovascular and Critical Care Services at Boston Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. She is known internationally for her work in leadership development, patient safety and bridging nursing practice and health policy. Her research examines the nursing and organizational factors associated with pediatric patient outcomes. Dr. Hickey’s honors include the 2009 American Association of Critical Care Nurses Circle of Excellence Award, Fellowship in the American Academy of Nursing, and The United States’ President’s Gold Volunteer Service Award in 2013, 2015 Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society first-named lecture in pediatric nursing, the Patricia A. Hickey Leadership Lecture at their annual international symposia and 2019 American Association of Critical Care Nurses Distinguished Researcher Award. In 2021, Dr. Hickey was invited to present at the Pediatric Grand Rounds at Children’s Hospital Colorado/University of Colorado, School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics.
