As an undergraduate student at the NYU School of Global Public Health, Bharat Sanka is determined to research, discuss and investigate the flaws and deficiencies of the US healthcare system, especially in terms of maternal and child healthcare. As a research intern at Rutgers NJMS Center for Immunity and Inflammation Mr. Sanka helped research the role of Crk in Immune Response and Immunological synapses in terms of immunotherapy. He has done research on vaccine deployment in the COVID-19 pandemic through Brown University's Pre-College program and has done research on U.S. maternal mortality rates compared to other developing nations. He has also volunteered with organizations like the Red Cross and Complete Care at Green Knoll, an elderly home, and is a trained EMT. Mr. Sanka has recently joined the South Asian Health Research (SAHARA) Group and intends to do research in public health as it relates to South Asians. He is excited to spark discourses about maternal and child healthcare.
