Youth Advisor
Youth Voice Amplified at AMCHP
Florissant, Colorado
Amber is a member of the inaugural Youth Voice Amplified subcommittee at AMCHP and a philosophy major in their senior year at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. They bring alumni youth advisory experience from the Teller County Public Health & Environment youth substance abuse and prevention program, an experience which was regrettably short-lived due to the extreme lack of youth-friendliness of adult partners there. Due to this negative experience, Amber found and maintained a passion for promoting positive youth engagement in public health sectors. They are concurrently completing an internship with the Youth Engaged 4 Change editorial board; they also participate in several freelance youth advisory roles, including having helped to plan some sessions at the 2022 HRSA Region VIII Adolescent and Young Adult Health Summit. Ultimately, Amber's goal is to attend the Colorado School of Law at CU Boulder and lead the Human Trafficking Unit as a prosecutor in Denver, CO.
