Isabel Dickson, MPH is the Economic Mobility Specialist in the Maternal and Child Health program at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Ms. Dickson develops the strategic direction of economic mobility work within the MCH program with a focus on addressing disparities in our policies, practices, and systems. She works to identify and implement evidence-based strategies to improve economic mobility for Colorado families, including strategic community partnerships to increase enrollment in services that support economic well-being and improve health outcomes for Colorado families.
Prior to this role, Ms. Dickson was responsible for providing tailored technical assistance to advance state MCH priorities within local public health agencies, including a focus on infant mortality and preterm birth prevention through promotion of family friendly employment policies. She has experience in researching and applying best practices, program planning, technical assistance, health systems change, facilitation, and creating partnerships. During the most recent MCH Needs Assessment, she co-led a team to incorporate social & structural determinants of health into the MCH block grant which led to the selection of economic mobility as a new state priority. She has a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in maternal and child health from the University of Washington.
