Roxanne is a Boston native, and she was educated in the Boston public school system. Throughout high school and college, she worked and interned at the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. She continued her education at Lesley University and earned her MS in Management.
In 1998, Roxanne's career in Human Resources shifted when she welcomed her child with special needs into her life. Early on she saw the need for services for families similar to hers and found ways to engage with them on behalf of schools, community and health based organizations.
She currently works as the Early Childhood Sysytems Coordinator for Family Engagement and Training , in the Division of Pregancy, Infancy and Early Childhood for the Massachuseets Departmnet of Public Health. Roxanne speaks at forums on childcare, literacy, healthcare disparities, and parents’ rights for children with special needs. Her passion is working with under resourced populations; including supporting new and expectant families when they get a new diagnosis.
