Lani McQuilkin is an MPH candidate attending Drexel University’s Dornsife School of Public Health in Pennsylvania in the Community Health and Prevention program; she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences from Whitworth University in Washington State. She has a rich background in health education doing research in disaster preparedness for caregivers, using Person-Centered Planning (PCP) to help youth with disabilities transition from high school, using peer education to lower infant mortality among racial and ethnic minorities, developing a leadership transition manual for summer camp Health Program Coordinators and much more. She is certified as a Peer Health Educator by the Office of Minority Health through Drexel University. Lani served as a Title V MCH Intern at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Division for Children and Youth with Special Health Needs during the summer of 2021 and helped draft the state-wide health transition toolkit for Massachusetts youth and young adults with special health needs and caregivers.
