Vanessa Acosta is a MPH candidate at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and previously received a BA in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to attending Harvard, Vanessa worked as a care coordinator for high risk Medicaid members in San Francisco, working with families of children ages birth to 17 in navigating the health care system, meeting basic needs, addressing school-based issues, and coordinating services with community agencies. After obtaining her MPH in Health and Social Behavior with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health, Vanessa hopes to work on programing that automates care coordination for families across both the health care and social service sectors. Vanessa holds a long-term goal of attending medical school to obtain a degree in pediatrics and to work on state and national health policy.
