Kim Mathews is a Parent Consultant with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Bureau of Maternal, Child, and Family Health. She joined ODH with the goal of improving integration of family perspective within programs. Kim is the parent of a child with special health care needs and has extensive background leading children and youth with special health care needs(CYSHCN) patient and family advisory boards and community organizations. Kim previously served as the committee chair for the Children with Medical Handicaps Program (CMH) Parent Advisory Committee. Kim works throughout the bureau programs and assists with engaging parent perspectives in bureau work, materials, and activities. In addition, she leads specific projects around transition for CYSHCN, working to improve diversity in the Parent Advisory Committee, and speaking directly with parents in Ohio to provide mentoring and program supports.
