Research Assistant
University of South Florida
Being a Graduate Research Assistant in the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida has given me the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to learn, understand, and address the existing health disparities in the health care system. Our team concentrates mainly on maternal and child health where I work as the project coordinator for the evaluation of ECCS, where I have been able to use Spanish, which is my first language, to conduct interviews with parents, and translate documents. Additionally, I also support other projects such as the birth defects surveillance program, and infant and early childhood mental health. I am passionate about access to health care, and community-based intervention in maternal and child health. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Public Health achieving Summa Cum Laude honors at the University of South Florida where I am currently perusing my MPH to gain the necessary knowledge to achieve health equity.
