Early Childhood Consultant

Deana McGuire Buck has worked in the field of early childhood development in Virginia for 36 years and now serves as an affiliate faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University. She retired from the Partnership for People with Disabilities, Virginia’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD, in 2020, where she served as Assistant Director, Early Childhood/Early Intervention Team Leader, and Principal Investigator for statewide initiatives to improve services for young children with disabilities and their families through professional development, quality improvement, and research. She also directed projects to reach early care and education providers, local agencies, and Head Start personnel. She currently serves as an Early Childhood Consultant and is also the lead for Virginia’s COVID-19 Early Identification project. She also serves on the project team for Virginia’s Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Health Integration project.
