Maternal Child Health Epidemiologist

Rachel Ralya, MPH is the Maternal Child Health Epidemiologist in the Family Health Bureau at the New Mexico Department of Health. She has a Bachelor of Science in Community Development from Central University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and a Master of Public Health from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. In 2021, she organized and led the COVID-19 vaccine in pregnancy media campaign and has been an integral part of efforts to increase vaccination rates among pregnant persons in New Mexico. Rachel is actively engaged in the AMCHP Leadership Lab as a 2021-2022 participant of the MCH Epi Peer-to-Peer Cohort, and was nominated by her peers to receive the AMCHP Emerging MCH Professional Award. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and being outdoors with her partner, their two young children and two dogs.
