Dr. Mishkin has over a decade of public health and international development research, management, evaluation, and policy experience in 14 countries. A Fulbright alumna and Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, she is passionate about maternal and child health. Within the American Public Health Association, she holds leadership roles including Chair of the International Maternal and Child Health Committee, Chair of the Women's Caucus Policy Committee, and as a newly elected member of the Science Board. She serves on national and local boards of directors for multiple organizations and has served on the editorial board for scientific journals. She is an author of peer-reviewed manuscripts, policy statements, and national and state reports. Mishkin holds a Doctorate in Health Policy, Management, and Behavior, a Masters in Public Health from Emory University and a Masters in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University. She completed her undergraduate degree at Smith College.
