Toni M. Whitaker, MD, FAAP, is a professor of Pediatrics and Developmental Pediatrics who serves as the Division Chief in Developmental Pediatrics for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Department of Pediatrics and at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
She is the Director of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau-funded Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program at the University of Tennesse Health Science Center in Memphis.
As the CDC’s Ambassador to Tennessee for the "Learn the Signs. Act Early." program since 2011, she has been directly involved in outreach to medical and early education professionals as well as families to promote parent-engaged developmental monitoring as well as professional developmental surveillance and screening.
