Amanda Akosa is a contractor serving as a jurisdictional point of contact and technical monitor for the Surveillance for Emerging Threats to Mothers and Babies Network (SET-NET) within the Emerging Threats Team of the Infant Outcomes Monitoring, Research, and Prevention Branch in the CDC National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD). She is currently deployed to the CDC COVID-19 Emergency Response on the Pregnancy and Infant Linked Outcomes Team (PILOT). In the last year, she has also contributed to communication activities and v-safe pregnancy call center support as part of the COVID-19 Response.
In her role, Amanda coordinates routine communication and technical assistance for participating SET-NET jurisdictions, reviews budget and program reports to track grant-supported activities, and assists with receiving and providing feedback for jurisdictional data submissions.
