Elisa Fisher is a Senior Program Officer in the Center for Evaluation and Applied Research at the New York Academy of Medicine. Her work is centered on using mixed methods to research and evaluate programs that aim to improve access to healthcare and community-based services that address the social, environmental and structural determinants of health. Prior to joining the Academy, Ms. Fisher worked on evaluations of early childhood and youth development programs, food justice initiatives, and supportive services for victims of violence and abuse in community and academic settings. She also worked as a health care advocate for individuals and families in NYC and served as a member of the AmeriCorps*National Civilian Community Corps. Ms. Fisher holds masters’ degrees in public health and social work from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland.
