Yingwei Yang, PhD, is currently a postdoc at Duke University Social Science Research Institute. Dr. Yang is a mixed-methods researcher, whose research interests focus on youth risk behaviors, sport injuries, racial equity and social justice, and social determinants of health. Dr. Yang has led an intervention program on school violence and bullying based on life skills education, and a mixed-methods theory-driven study on community safety promotion using structural equation modeling and photovoice. Dr. Yang also worked for multiple research projects, including community violence prevention, children’s sports injuries, Florida Violence Death Reporting System (FLVDRS), and firearm-related studies. Currently, Dr. Yang is working with an interdisciplinary research team to assess the implementation of the NCAA’s sickle cell trait screening policy using mixed methods approach.
