My-Phuong (Maria) Huynh is the Lead Epidemiologist for the Philadelphia Department of Health’s (PDPH) Division of Maternal, Child and Family Health (MCFH). She received her BS in Public Health & Biological Sciences from Rutgers University and her MPH in Maternal & Child Health Epidemiology from University of South Florida. Her passion is to improve the health and wellness of communities through the translation of data to action. Her current responsibilities at PDPH are to evaluate the impact of programs within MCFH, conduct surveillance on maternal and child health outcomes and analyze & share data with stakeholders and community members to improve MCH through policies and programs. She also leads the Data & Evaluation team for the division which is composed of epidemiologists and research staff. The team supports MCFH by promoting data-driven decisions, grant writing and reporting, fostering research collaborations, and developing reports.
