Epidemiologist
Tennessee Department of Health
Lauren Kuzma graduated with her MPH in 2019, and began working as an Epidemiologist at the Tennessee Department of Health that same year. Her role as the Epidemiologist for the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System entails conducting regular analyses to submit as conference abstracts or manuscripts, or for publication as fact sheets or reports. Analyses include survey data procedures to conduct univariate, bivariate, and regressions, as well as conducting Chi-square tests, estimating odds and prevalence ratios. Analyses are guided either by recognized Maternal and Child Health Indicators, previously published research, or evidence-based practices. Ms. Kuzma also participates in introducing other fellows and interns to Tennessee PRAMS sampling methodology and analytical procedures. Additionally, Ms. Kuzma provides analytical assistance to the Tennessee Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System program to fulfill data requests, complete fact sheets, and create data briefs.
