Hitomi Abe is a Senior Program Analyst for the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health team at NACCHO. She currently works on several projects designed to build community resilience by strengthening partnerships between maternal and child health and emergency preparedness programs within local health departments. Prior to her role at NACCHO, Hitomi led a community engagement program for the City of Cambridge in Massachusetts and developed a community coalition at the Boston Public Health Commission that aimed to reduce racial inequities in infant mortality and poor birth outcomes through policy strategies. Hitomi has extensive experience working for local health departments and engaging the community. She holds a BS from The Ohio State University and an MPH from Boston University School of Public Health.
