Dr. Flavia Q. Pirih is a professor and the Tarrson Family Endowed Chair in Periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry. After receiving her dental degree at Universidade Federal do Parana in Brazil, she received a PhD in Oral Biology from UCLA. Upon graduation, Dr. Pirih completed residency in Periodontics from the University of Michigan. Dr. Pirih is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and currently serves as the president of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. Dr. Pirih’s greatest strength is the passion she has for Periodontology and academia. She brings in hard work and determination towards increasing the academic community’s understanding of Periodontology and disseminating that knowledge to others.
