Dr. Shayan Barootchi is Clinical Researcher and a third-year resident at the Department of Periodontics & Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan. Dr. Barootchi has conducted and been involved in numerous research projects, ranging from human randomized clinical trials and cross-sectional studies, small and large animal models, in-vitro and other translational and basic research, many of which have been published in well-known peer-reviewed journals. His Research and publications have been the recipient of several national and international prestigious awards, and he serves as an adjunct reviewer for many internally-renowned journals in Dentistry and in Periodontology.
Currently, Dr. Barootchi's main area of focus has been Evidence-synthesis and Evidence-based dental practice as it relates to contemporary Periodontics and Implant dentistry, particularly in the areas of periodontal and peri-implant hard and soft tissue regeneration, immediate implant therapy, and prevention of peri-implant disease.
