Teacher, researcher, and consultant in correctional health care and a former jail medical director and Health Services Director for the Washington State Department of Corrections. He teaches at the University of Washington School of Public Health in Seattle, and chairs the Education committees of the American College of Correctional Physicians and the Academic Consortium on Criminal Justice Health. Dr. Stern serves as a consultant to federal courts and agencies and as medical advisor to the National Sheriffs Association and the Washington State Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs.
