David Simpson began his forensic career after a brief stint as a high school biology teacher. His first taste of forensics came when he started working for the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory in Austin, TX. He left the TX DPS for the FBI where he has been for the last 17 years. He spent his first 5 years as a latent print examiner and the last 12 and change as a codebreaker.
