Deputy Cory Oakley (he/him) began his law enforcement career in 1998 and has served as a Police Officer with the Columbus Regional Airport Authority Police, and Washington DC Metropolitan Police Departments. As a Deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, he was formally assigned to the Corrections Division before being transferred to the CORE Team. Deputy Oakley is one of the original members of the CORE Team and has been involved in every step of the design and construction of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, James A. Karnes Correctional Facility.
Deputy Oakley is a graduate of The Ohio State University with Bachelor of Art degrees in Sociology, Criminology and Political Science. He also graduated with academic distinction from Tiffin University, earning a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Homeland Security Administration. He is a member of the American Society of Criminology and has presented at the National Association for Justice Information Systems (NAJIS), and the American Jail Association (AJA) Health and Wellness national conferences.
