Jaime is a 20-year veteran of the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office. Current;ly, she is the Commander of the Professional Development Center. Formerly, she was the Chief of the Alternative Incarceration Branch (AIB); a 192 bed Less Secure Area of the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Inmates under her purview are lower-level offenders who work in the Sheriff’s Office Community Labor Force, are on work release, or are participating in the STAR program. STAR (Striving to Achieve Recovery) is an intensive, peer led, addiction treatment program where participants live together, support each other and work on skills to help them to continue sober living. Jaime worked closely with her partners at the Fairfax County-Falls Church Community Services Board and other community stakeholder groups to develop and implement this program at the jail. Since its inception on November 1, 2018, this program has navigated many of its participants into sober living and has save lives. She has worked in all branches of the Sheriff’s Office and was on the organizing committee for the Fairfax 2015 World Police & Fire Games. She is a graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy Class (NJLCA) class #24. Her professional memberships include AJA, the National Sheriff’s Association, the Virginia Sheriff’s Association and the Mid-Atlantic Association of Women in Law Enforcement. She has a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from University of Texas at Austin. Jaime continues to move forward projects that include wraparound re-entry services to ensure that justice involved individuals have the tools to be successful upon release.
