Larry A. Schurig is the Executive Director of the Use of Force Review Unit for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), which reviews all reported Use of Force incidents involving CCSO members. The Department of Justice even recognized the development, strategies, and review processes created by Executive Director Schurig. Due to this recognition, Executive Director Schurig has assisted other agencies in developing similar types of units based on the principles he used to create his unit. Executive Director Schurig is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy session 266 and NorthWestern’s Police Staff and Command session 389.
