Sergeant Javier Dejesus currently serves as Housing Shift Commander and is the Commander of the Special Response Team (SRT). Sgt. Dejesus started his career in law enforcement with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office as a Detention Deputy in 2010. Sergeant Dejesus is dual certified in corrections and law enforcement. Sgt. Dejesus is a Certified Corrections Supervisor (CCS) and has attended an abundance of training related to PTSD and Officer Wellness for Law Enforcement. Sgt. Dejesus has been assisting the training division for many years and has a lot of experience presenting classes. Sgt. Dejesus also is employed by the Withlacoochee Technical College as an instructor where he teaches cadets numerous topics. Sgt. Dejesus has worked extensively on developing the “Officer Wellness” program and has put in a countless amount of hours into fine-tuning this program. This program went live with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office in 2019 and has turned out to make a great impact on the agency.
