Anthony began his Correctional career in the US Army in 1996 at a small jail on Fort Knox, Kentucky. After being honorably discharged, he began working for the Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation Department in 1999 and has been promoted through the ranks to Captain where he currently oversees the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center which houses the Mental Health Treatment Center.
Anthony has worked in several specialty areas including, Inmate Transportation, Intake and Release, Court Services, and Monitored Release and has served on the Board of Directors for the Police Benevolent Association and the American Jail Association (AJA) in addition to serving as a commissioner for the AJA’s Jail Manager Certification Commission. He holds a dual Masters Degree in Criminal Justice and Public Administration from Florida International University where he also teaches Criminal Justice to undergraduate students. He has been a Certified Jail Manager since 2014 and is a graduate of the NJLCA Class #15.
