Detective/Corporal Armando Castillo has been with the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Department for 29 years, serving as a corrections supervisor for 10 years and jail ward supervisor since 2020. He is also a SBSD Mental Health Supervisor/Liaison and a safety staff mental health expert instructor. He has helped facilitate the acceptance of incarcerated individuals into the Department of State Hospitals Jail Based Competency Treatment program. Over his career, Detective/Corporal Castillo was also assigned to the AB109 Prison Realignment Team, Homicide Bureau, Major Narcotic Investigations, Gang Investigations, and S.W.A.T. He has received over 40 letters of commendation, five Commander awards, and the IRC incident investigator ribbon.
