Join the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office as they share information on their journey to build a facility for staff without sacrificing safety and security. They took the concept of staff resilience, and with the help of experts, incorporated this concept from the health care design industry into their new facility. Recognizing and using biophilic design elements, they include staff feedback and mind-friendly color schemes, elements, and scenes of nature. They used every opportunity to bring daylight into the staff-occupied spaces and created staff-centric spaces that meet the needs of their staff both on and off duty. Their focus is on their foundation—their staff. They believe a healthy work environment leads to an officer’s motivation to stay well at work and at home.
