Therapeutic Inmate Management Unit: Managing Inmates Suffering from Mental Illness

This workshop focuses on how the Ventura County Sheriff's Office has successfully managed the most difficult population of inmates—those under psychiatric care. Since 2019, we have utilized methods and techniques to provide consistency, and we have tracked behavioral patterns to reward and encourage good behavior. In addition, presenters discuss how to be proactive in identifying potential issues before they arise.
