Location: 203AB
Supervisors play a crucial—and often pivotal—role in both organizational culture and jail operations. Positioned between the line staff and the administration, supervisors must lead in all directions to be effective. When it comes to Strategic Inmate Management (SIM), supervisors must support their officers in their success, hold staff accountable, facilitate communication at multiple levels of the organization, advocate to the administration, be a role model, and so much more. This workshop focuses on the vital role of supervisors in a SIM agency; identifies key components of the supervisor’s role; and facilitates discussion on strategies that supervisors can employ to be successful.
