Darrell S. Pardi, M.D., M.Sc., is Chair of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Professor of Medicine, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.
Dr. Pardi earned his M.D. at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, where he also completed a residency and chief residency. He completed GI fellowship at Mayo and has been on faculty there ever since. Dr. Pardi subsequently earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical and Translational Science.
Dr. Pardi’s research focuses on the clinical features, epidemiology and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, especially microscopic colitis, and C. difficile infection. Dr. Pardi is frequently invited to give presentations in these areas and has authored numerous articles, book chapters, and abstracts and has helped design, conduct, and interpret clinical trials for several drugs. He also serves on the GI Drug Advisory Committee at the FDA.
In recognition of his work, Dr. Pardi has received many awards and honors, including multiple awards for excellence in education and the Teacher of the Year Award in Gastroenterology.
