Dr. Emanuelle Bellaguarda, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a gastroenterologist specializing in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at Northwestern University. Dr. Bellaguarda is the Director of the Advanced Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellowship. She completed her internal medicine residency at Boston University and her gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Chicago. Her subspecialty training includes an advanced IBD fellowship at Northwestern University. She leads Northwestern’s Fecal Transplant Program and Immune-mediated colitis toxicity service. Her clinical research interests focus on the discovery of new biomarkers to monitor disease activity and biomarkers to monitor immune-mediated colitis. She is extensively involved in IBD clinical trials and serves as site principal investigator in several clinical trials.
