W-005 - New Faces in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Moving Forward Together

The pandemic and societal violence have highlighted the inequities that BIPOC and other marginalized populations face within society and the health care system.  In response, many dental schools have created or expanded their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) activities, including the addition of DEI committees and administrative positions.  You will hear how two dental schools enhanced their DEI commitment, while simultaneously learning about their successes and challenges in implementing new initiatives.  You will also have an opportunity to discuss the changes at your institutions and collaborate with attendees to share what has been effective and brainstorm how to overcome obstacles.
