Shifting gender demographics in dentistry continues, yet the number of men in top leadership roles far exceeds that of women. Concomitantly, the changing gender dynamics promises increased opportunities for women to serve in leadership. In 2018/2019, ADEA WIL SIG identified priorities including a leadership development needs survey with subsequent leadership development programming. This session will report the leadership barriers and development areas identified in the survey and provide strategies for addressing these needs for the purpose of helping participants improve their academic careers. A sample of the web-based leadership development program planned for future rollout will also be explored.
