Lifting the capacity for mental health and wellness is a topic of critical importance for the health practitioners of tomorrow. As dental education institutions seek to graduate patient-centered, competent oral health care professionals, special attention is required on the development of professional skills related to mind-body wellness. Mindful practice, meditation, and guided reflection provide an evidence-based approach to foster professionalism and adaptive emotional coping strategies in the dental education curriculum. This session will discuss the data, results, and educational outcomes of a two-part educational module on impostor feelings and mindfulness practice for first-year dental students from 2020-2021.
