This interactive educational session will explore how to create a more equitable summative assessment program. When high-stakes assessments are done in the patient care setting, it is impossible to make sure that every learner gets equivalent cases. How we measure learner’s competence has been evolving throughout dental education’s history, and there are many current and upcoming changes to consider, including the Integrated National Board Dental Exam, Entrustable Professional Activities and how Covid-19 has influenced licensure exams. You will learn about the benefits of creating more standardized and equitable education experience through the lens of the summative assessment program.
