Objectives - Measure impact of oral health delivered through innovative models in partnership between academia and community-based health centers.
Methods - Data analysis of care delivery through innovative models of care with University of Washington School of Dentistry pre-doctoral students on service learning rotations and NYU Langone Dental Medicine AEGD post-doctoral trainees at various community-based clinics throughout Washington.
Results - Academia and community health partnerships may result in improved outcomes for accessing care for underserved communities in both rural and urban areas of Washington state.
Conclusion - Collaborations between academia and community health entities are impactful for students and trainees; and help to alleviate access to care problems in rural and urban underserved communities.
