Three-dimensional (3D) printing technology can be utilized in predoctoral education to create models to augment teaching and learning. The authors will demonstrate how to scan and design 3D printed educational models in prosthodontics, share a workflow for implementation of this technology, and showcase sample models. Life-like samples include ideal preparations with final restorations or edentulous arches with complete dentures. This tangible and cost-efficient approach can be incorporated in preclinical courses including operative and prosthodontics. As students transition to clinic, they can reference these models in planning for live patient cases thus preparing the next wave of oral health providers.
